A Message From Our CEO Regarding COVID-19
“Stand up straight and realize who you are, that you tower over your circumstances.”
It might feel these days as if certainty is in shorter supply than N95 masks. If I may, allow the kid who occasionally did homework by candlelight with shoes he had to glue together to share a word about tough times:
We get through them. Usually, the best way through is together.
I know that COVID-19 has been A LOT for all of us to deal with, especially creatives. I get it. I not only run a business designed to help creatives, but (as many of you know) I am a full-time creative (celebrating ten years on April 21st!) and let me tell you, I needed about a week to process the fact that two to four months’ worth of performances, appearances and other sources of income had evaporated and would be gone for the foreseeable future.
But if I learned anything growing up, it’s that moments throughout our lives like this can be catalysts for the greatest opportunities in our lives.
It’s going to be a while until we are able to give everyone reading this a dap, pound, or hug, but even digitally we can find ways to continue to contribute to the culture. So, I am proud to announce that, until some sense of normalcy returns, we have decided to direct the 20% of our sales that give away directly to creatives whose work has been disrupted or halted as a result of COVID-19, because my new reality that I shared earlier is the story of millions of creatives right now, and we at Culture PHX feel it’s only right to help as many of our fellow creatives as directly as possible. Visit CulturePHX.com and help us help others.
In addition to donating directly to creatives, Culture PHX is currently working on a new online series designed to help creatives cut off from their livelihood; if you are an interested creative, contact me directly at email@example.com. I promise you, this is going to be something you want to be a part of. More to come.
We’ve got this, family. Wash your hands, protect your peace, and remember to breathe and check in with loved ones.
See you (in person) soon, but in the meantime, we’re still here to help, however we can.
